Room service food was bland and took too long. There is a kids splash pad and a limited kids menu, but decent wood burning pizza place but it’s only open for lunch. If you have kids, there is not much to do here. You will spend your entire vacation in a pool. None of the rooms are actually facing the beach, only the prestige rooms do, which you have to pay $200 extra per night, but considering the smell - I’d rather not. We expected turquoise blue water like the pictures but got muddy smelly seaweed water. It takes 5 minutes to drive out, and even if you do there is nothing to do as it’s located off a highway. You cannot walk out of the resort onto the street or into town hoping for a market or food truck. ![]() It’s promoted as being near the hotel zone but is actually 25 minutes from Cancun hotel zone and is located on the Riviera Maya. ![]() This hotel is rated 4-5 stars but the beach brings it to a 2-3. Hate to be negative but if you are looking to go Mexico for a good beach, head for the Cancun hotel zone instead of the Azul hotel.
